The baby is about the length of a papaya (according to the bump.com) or a spaghetti squash (from babycenter.com)
Here's some info on the 22nd week from babycenter.com:
"At 11 inches and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily."

Saturday in Union Square
Here are a few pictures from Saturday in some 90 degree weather... I swear the ice cream was necessary.
I also ventured to Babies R Us and Target this weekend. Not surprisingly, the stores around here suck. There wasn't much to look at as far as car seats, swings or cribs. I think I'll wait to do more of that kind of shopping until I get to the suburbs!

Burger Baby Belly
What can I say, the baby likes burgers! This was taken after eating at the grand opening of the new Shake Shack in Times Square. Anthony likes burgers too ;)

Pictures coming soon...
But for now, here are some baby related blogs I like to read and get inspiration from:
daddytypes.com is a blog geared towards new dads, but I like the posts.
ohdeedoh.com is an offshoot of Apartment Therapy, and features cool home/accessory design for babies and kids.
babygadget.net is also a design inspiration blog but tends to lean towards more minimalist/space saving baby gear, which is something I'm definitely a fan of.
From NewScientist, Bumpology is a really interesting blog focused on the science behind pregnancy.
Besides design inspiration, I'm also reading a lot of blogs to get ideas for car seats, strollers, cribs, co-sleepers, bottles, baby carriers, etc. All of which I knew nothing about as of last month. There are so many options and opinions it can be a bit overwhelming. Thankfully I also have friends and family with new babies so I have tons of great advice and recommendations coming my way. Thank you!

20 weeks today- Halfway point
The baby is the size of a cantaloupe! I'm assuming they mean a baby cantaloupe...
The size is measured from crown to rump up to this week. Next week we get into different fruits when the baby's average measurement is taken from head to toe.

Tony took a few photos on our walk down Devoe St. in Williamsburg in 96 degree weather yesterday. Looking a little hippie... ;)

Sonogram today
Well it's official, it's a boy! They already told us this at about 14 weeks but since that was a little on the early side to see the gender, they confirmed it for me today. I even have a printout specifically pointing "it" out... I'll spare you that photo though..
As per usual, the little guy was moving around like crazy so they had a hard time getting a really good photo of his whole body, but they did get a good head profile shot:
Despite all the squirming, they were able to capture photos of all the individual parts and they assured me all his measurements are exactly as they should be, and he weighs about 12 ounces.
Here's a hand:
This is what he looked like awhile ago:
Happy Friday!
